Aloe Vera Plant Care 101

Filling your home with plants is a recent obsession of ours. There are so many benefits to having houseplants - they can improve air quality, decrease stress, and enhance your interior design.
Being stuck indoors over the past two years means we've spent a lot of time with our new greenery. We know how to make sure our plants won't wilt and die when the going gets tough - and we're passing on our knowledge to you!
If it wasn't obvious, our favorite plant is the Aloe Vera itself. Hardy, beautiful, and the main ingredient in our gel, Aloe Vera is the perfect succulent on which to hone your green thumb.
Here's how to take care of your Aloe Vera - keeping it bright and healthy all year round.
Light
Light is the most important factor - Aloe loves the sun! Your plant won't thrive in the shade, so make sure it sits by a window, or ideally outside.
Water
As a succulent, Aloe doesn't need too much hydration. A thorough water once a week in summer and once a fortnight in winter will do just fine, and rainwater is best if you have a tank! Watch out if she's in a terracotta pot, as they are porous and dry out more quickly.
Fertiliser
Growing season is April to September, and guess what? It's also prime fertilising time. Help your plant grow by feeding it with fertiliser once a fortnight.
And there you have it! It's really as simple as that. Follow these tips, and you too could have your very own thriving Aloe Vera plant.
