Summer Spotlight: Middleton, South Australia

It's almost Summer, baby! Okay, we know it doesn't quiiite feel like it, but we're being optimistic! And since the best destination for our Aloe Vera Gel is the beach, we thought we'd highlight a few of our fave oceanfront hotspots - at home and abroad.

First up is Middleton, a humble beach town an hour south of Adelaide, SA.
Middleton is packed during the summer months, and with good reason - it's the perfect spot to relax. Here are a few top tips if you're headed down to the Fleurieu this summer.
Where to Stay: Middleton Beach Huts
Self-contained boutique accommodation just a few streets back from the beach? Don't mind if I do! These 12 huts are perfect for a solo venture, a romantic weekend or a gals' getaway. Stroll down to the sea for the day or hang around on your private deck, play some tennis and have a barbecue. You can even get married on site - gorgeous.

What to do: Learn to Surf
Just down the coast from Waitpinga and Parsons, where the swells are large and the rips even larger, Middleton is the perfect spot for beginners to polish off that surfboard and get amongst the waves.

Where to Eat and Drink: Wineries and Bakeries
Once you're in Middleton, you're only a stone's throw from McLaren Vale, home to many of SA's best wineries. Take a trip to the D'Arenberg Estate, or have a long lunch at Coriole. If you're not up for a drive, just down the road is the famous Port Elliot Bakery - don't pass up their donut of the month.

If you're an SA local looking for a holiday spot close to home, you can't go past Middleton. Enjoy the local food, have a surf and enjoy all the Fleurieu peninsula has to offer.
